Valentine's Day

Valentine's day was pretty typical around here. Brian had to work all day, Christian went to a friend's house, so Lyci, Riain and I decided to go shopping. I bought nothing for myself, but we bought Lyci this Juicy Couture bag she has been eyeing for a year. Riain got some under armour clothes(which is the new kid obsession). He now has shoes, shirts, hats, gym bag and shorts that are all under armour. I eyed this table from pottery barn that I have been trying to talk myself into. I need to measure and see if it will fit in my dining room.

I am pretty proud of myself. I made the kids and Brian's gifts this year. The kids got a candy jar with their name on it, Brian got one also. Then I made Brian a word book. It turned out real nice I think. He seemed to like it. I hope so cause it spent a lot of time on it. Well you can see it, the pic is of my first attempt to be crafty as far as gifts go.

Reality Check...

Lyci fell asleep reading, I love it !!!!

The kids and I are sitting at the table, they are eating dinner.
I am waiting on Brian to get home before I eat.
We are talking about our day, I am giving them grief about their ability to make straight A's.
THey are giving me the I am doing my best answer.
Lyci's phone makes that annoying you got a text sound.
Christian is coughing because he is still fighting off a cold.
Riain is arguing about not wanting to finish his dinner.
I am trying not to fall asleep because I was at school from 7:20-5:30.
The house is a mess.
I am behind on laundry.

What else can I say?

Ohh, How I love to buy bags...

Tonight, after dealing with sick kids all day, Brian and I snuck away and had dinner at Chipotle, and then we went to Bloomingdale's. I have been trying to talk myself into a new bag, but just have not bitten the bullet yet. Tonight I did. I talked myself out of it, and then Brian insisted I get it. I love it when he takes control and makes me buy something I want. So now I have a new Michael Kors bag, he likes to keep me happy.

Thanks Brian!!!

What do you say?

The other night I went to tuck Riain into bed, I laid down with him and we started talking. I am not sure how we got on the subject, but the conversation turned to where do babies come from. Well I was ready to yell for Brian, before I did, I asked Riain well where do you think they come from. He looked at me with a real grown up look and says, " Well mommy, I know there are 2 ways a mommy gets pregnant." I said ok, tell them to me. His first answer was very smart. He says well I know that sometimes a mommy can not get pregnant and a doctor has to help her. I said yes Riain that is true. Then I asked well what is the other way? And his answer just shows the innocence of this sweet boy.

He said well when a mommy and daddy love each other and they decide to have a baby. God sends the baby down and the mommy takes a deep breathe and she becomes pregnant. I was relieved. My response was, Riain you are absolutely right. I gave him a kiss and a hug, tucked him in and left his room with the biggest smile on my face.

Riain is not a typical 9 year old. He is very smart, he knows a lot about planes, wars, anything military, and about going green. But he is still so young in other ways. Thank goodness I dodged that bullet, I am not ready for the conversation with him.

Keeping My Baby Daddy Happy

Brian has been wanting a truck for a while now, so we broke down and bought one. He now has a Supercab 4x4 FX4 F150. He loves it. We go everywhere in it. Now we can haul in it, and go buy that trampoline we have been promising the kids. There are so many things we are going to be able to do.

Now Brian has his truck, I get the next new car. Not sure what I want, but it will have to be big. The kids are getting to small for my little car.

So here's to hauling and muddin (just kidding, but we do live in redneck country)!!!

My weird need...

Ever since I went and saw my sister in law Val back in the early fall, I have had a need to drink wine. One night for dinner we had this great wine that was really good. Ever since then I have wanted to have that type of wine. I love the idea of having a glass of wine after the kids go to bed. But here is the question, how do you know what is a good type to drink is? I guess you ask people that drink it often.

Any suggestions please let me know.

Money in my pocket

Today I went to the grocery store to get supplies for tacos. I decided I would do a little coupon shopping. I saved a total of 15.16. My bill was a little under 60 dollars. The best deal I got was on cereal. We eat alot of cereal in this house. I am talking boxes a week.

Here is how it broke down:

Kellogg's Frosted Flakes and Apple jacks were buy one get one free. One was 2.14 and the other was 2.15. They ring up both and cut the price in half. This means you can use two coupons. Each of my coupons was 1.50 off. So one box was .65 cents and the other was .64. you can not even get generic cereal for that. I forgot to meantion that they were the bog boxes that were normally like 4.69 each or something close to that.

I am so into this, and Brian could not be happier with my new money saving thing. I will keep you all up to date on how I do. DO not worry I will not post all the deals. I hope to inspire some of you to save money. I will be glad to share any ideas I find.

Well I am off to PTA.
