Renaissance Festival Finally!!!!

We have been planning on going to this thing for years and we finally decided to do it. We loaded up the kids and went to Fairburn Georgia. It was not too far of a drive which is nice since Brian drives all week. We had a great time.

The first thing we did was go to a comedy show put on by pirates. It was supposed to be PG, needless to say, it was not. Well Riain did not get the jokes, but Lyci sure did. Every time those stupid pirates did something or said something (yes there were actions happening), she would turn around and give me this look. I am just not sure when this happened, her being able to get jokes. I mean, we have not been able to spell talk for a while, but jokes. It was horrible, but I thought it was hilarious. The jokes, not Lyci getting them.

We saw a joust, and a bunch of people in costumes. There are some people out there, that like to dress up. There were tons of things to see, and some amazing artwork. Oh and the food was great. The kids each ate a GIANT turkey leg, and I tried the fried green beans. They were awesome!!!! All in all, we had a great time.

On another note, Lyci almost broke her finger last Friday. We had it xrayed and it is just really bad jammed. She has to wear a finger brace, and boy is she milking it. Please pray for her to heal, she has cheer leading tryouts starting Monday. We are hoping she will be all better.

So to recap:

almost broken finger
people in costumes making crude, but funny jokes

In the words of Riain, "Good Times, Good Times)

Fishing Nelson Style

Load kids up in the truck.
Drive 1 hour and 15 minutes away.
Arrive at Rainbow Ranch where everything you need is supplied.
Fish for 2 hours.
Riain catches 1 fish.
Lyci catches 1 fish.
Daddy catches 2 fish and his shoe. :)
Mom catches it all on the camera.
Have the workers clean and cut the fish.
Pay 70 dollars.
Take the fish to Gamma's house b/c the boys are the only ones who eat fish and I do not know how to cook it.
Come home.

That is how we fish in the Nelson house.

FYI- Christian was grounded, that is why he is not there.

Fort Nelson

Riain and Dawson(our neighbor) had a sleep over the other night. When I went to bed the living room looked as it should. When I woke up to let our new puppy Bell out this is what I found...

I knew I had to get a few shots. So there I am at 5 in the morning tiptoeing around the house looking for camera to snap a few shots. These are the moments I will look back on in 20 years and miss. REMINDER- Enjoy every moment with them!!

Forever since last blog...

I know it has been forever since I blogged last. Down here in wonderful Georgia nothing has changed. The drive is still killing Brian (I think we are going to have to move to Atlanta), the kids are wonderful and only 7 weeks until school is over. I will have the kiddos log on and blog about thier trip this weekend. Here are some pics we took a while back. I love all the pics of Brian and the kids, they were taken at Hard Rock in Atl. Then of course some of the doggies.

Work has been going good. I am still unsure of where I will be teaching next year or what grade I will be in. The schools have been hit hard, just like most businesses out there. They are making class sizes bigger and cutting back on some salaries. I can not wait to here where I will be, it is nerve racking to not know, so I can plan.

The kids ( like I said earlier are great), are ready for summer. It is hard to believe that Christian is about to be at the end of his seventh grade year. Time is going so fast. He has already been on a "date". They went to the movies, day time and her family was there. Still it was a huge deal.

Lyci is entering the boy crazy zone. She has told me of two boys that she is interested in. This is the first time that she has been really interested in anyone. We hope this will just be a preview of what is to come, God knows Brian (or myself) is not ready for this phase. Other then that, she is just such a joy to have in our lives.

Riain, well what can I say. I have started a flipbook of his favorite and best saying. This kid can just pull things out of his head that fit any moment and make you laugh so hard. By the way, he had 3 plans to rescue the captain of that boat from the pirates before the Navy did. And yes, they were good ones. :) That is him, no time for Saturday morning cartoons, he prefers the Military Channel.

I guess that is all that is new here. Just a quick update from the Nelsons. On another note, I just want to send out thoughts to my brother in law Wayne. We love you and are praying constantly.
